BB desktop doens't follow sync settings

Win 7 machine 7.1 software, Outlook 2010, BB bold 9900 device.


I want to push my Outlook contacts into the device and as such have requested one way synch. However the desktop software insists in adding items into Outlook, no matter what (both in the preview and - assuming I confirm the action - actually in Outlook),


Have tried to re-download & reinstall the desktop software and to wipe the device. If there is something in the device contacts it is being propagated to Outlook no matter what.


I can't believe there is such a blatant bug in the software (actually to be honest I can... RIM software is by far the works nightmare I have come across in my 20+ years IT life, but I will stop my rant there ) so what am I missing ??
