BB9900 clock keeps running fast...and getting faster

Hi all,

I suppose it's better than running too slowly (I won't ever be late if this continues) but here's the problem:

My phone did a major reset on itself the other day and it ended up defaulting back to the date, time and year that I'd bought it on. Within a few minutes, it got the date correct again, but it still set itself half an hour faster than the network time, and it keeps getting faster.

I've done:

--manually reset the time to the correct time

--turned it back to "automatic" and synched it with the network time.

It still shows the device time as faster (currently 45min but it's gaining) than the network time, which is correct.

Any suggestions? I know it did this when I first bought it and it sorted itself out within about a week of use. I'd rather not wait that long, however.

Thanks all!

L.

Re: BB9900 clock keeps running fast...and getting faster

Hello elesegern,

I would suggest backing up and doing a clean reload of the BlackBerry® device software as shown here: http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320. Please test the time before restoring any data to the device.

If this resolves the issue do a selective restore of essential data (Address Book, Calendar, Task, Memos, BBM contacts etc.)
How to use BlackBerry® Desktop Software to restore data to a BlackBerry® smartphone from a backup file

If the issue still persists after the reload, further investigation might be required. To help further diagnose the cause, contact your wireless service provider or BlackBerry® Technical Support Services for further review and support.

Thank you.
