One thing you can try... from your Options > Device > Applications, scroll to and delete the BlackBerry Messenger application.
Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
Once back up running, using the browser, go to www.blackberry.com/bbm and download and reinstall BBM again.
