Make sure you are not connected wirelessly but connected to your BIS account, downgrade to an old bbm, then upgrade, then once you have rebooted, click on your bbm while connected using only your BIS Account. i repeat, do not connect wirelessly but with BIS Account.

Two days ago, I had to reinstall my operating system due to problems I was having. I used BBM 7 on my Blackberry Bold 9000 device. When I restored, everything seemed to work well…then I opened BBM and its app but I couldn’t even until now. I’ve got stucked in this loop. It is even worse when I can’t restore BBM from my back up file. Here are the images of my current screen, I can’t do anything with BBM 8:

My battery went bad, grew a "belly" somehow it caused the phone to brick. "Flashed" it after a 10 days and installed 7.0. then upgraded to 7.1 susequently.
I used blackberry protect to retrieve data. To my greatest surprise, firstly, some of my contacts were missing. i had to uncheck the contacts box on my email profiles before they came back. Then i noticed that all previous emails dissappeared.

Replace the battery.
The bulge is normally a result of extreme heating.
