Re: BBM Icon went missing after upgrade

From the homescreen of your BlackBerry, press the Menu key (left of the trackpad) about 2-3 seconds and the Application Switcher ribbon bar will appear, you should see BBMessenger there. Click on it.

Thank you very much for your reply.

Unfortunately, the icon is missing from that list too.

Re: BBM Icon went missing after upgrade

Remedy found...I hope...

I lack the technical knowledge - any technical knowledge at all - so I can't explain why this solution, out of all, worked:

I disengaged the cellular network, then deleted the bbm application, then performed hard reset,  re-installed the bbm through the BB web site (not via appworld - didn't work that way), then disengaged the network again, performed another hard reset, re-engaged the network and everything went back to normal - the bbm icon is alive again.

Re: BBM Icon went missing after upgrade

Good deal, glad you got it.

Deleting and re-installing is the next thing to try when facing this.

Re: BBM Icon went missing after upgrade

My BBM icon went missing too after the upgrade (BBM shows in the installed applications list under options); I have gone through the steps of uninstalling and reinstalling, pulling the battery, checking all my folders, doing a reset of themes and the whole works to no avail so far.  I also upgraded one of my other app.  It didn't disappear but won't load anymore and I'm now getting "can't load module verifyerror."  This new error is now affecting at least three other of my installed apps which I ddn't even upgrade.

When my app world icon disappeared after the upgrade to ver .56, found the discussion on that where someone supplied a link to the previous verision (.29)  That resolved my app world problem.

Is all this all related?  Any other suggestions?

Thanks
