BBM Social not working

Bbm social not working. Sometimes it can receive or send bbm but in a very slow manner. EDGE/GPRS upper case already. Called my service provider and they said it’s already been activated. Still can’t use bbm social well. Sending/receiving icon is very slow. Been doing hard reboot for couple of times already still not working. Please advice.

 

 Does this have to do with the IME #? and PIN?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!

I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):

1) Register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
  • Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app

2) Resend Service Books

  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
  • Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.

3) Batt Pull Reboot

  • With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you!

Probably not...if things work at all, then that's not likely the problem. Rather, it's more likely a problem with the network you are using, which the above 3 steps will do all that they can to clear up. If the problem remains, then you need to continue working with your mobile service provider for formal support...they can escalat up to BlackBerry if necessary for enhanced support of your issue.

yeah i think i have a  problem with the service books. it doesn't hav BBIS. but i can't get into email accounts set up. it needs something from thes system admin.

it also says blackberry enterprise server? needs an email to confirm it.

Enterprise is irrelevant, unless you are on BES. If "Personal" or "Internet" email is not also offered for configuration, then you don't have a proper BIS account on your BB, and you need that. If you cannot fully complete the above 3 steps (note please that there is more than one method by which to send the Service Books), then you need to ring up your mobile service provider. Only they can look "behind the scenes" at their system to find out why your BB cannot properly communicate with their network.
