BBM via wifi

I connected to the home wifi network with my bb, I then checked service status, it says blackberry internet service is connected through wifi. If this is so, why is bbm not working over wifi? Doesn't bbm work over bis (which is connected via wifi)?

BlackBerry Internet Service is not connected via Wi-Fi. BIS cannot be activated through Wi-Fi. You will need to check with your carrier for a BlackBerry Internet Service plan, to get BBM working; with and without Wi-Fi.

Assuming you have BIS and have already set up your BBM, it sounds like it's just a glitch.  I would recommend deleting your Wi-Fi profile in your phone, resetting your wireless router and adding the home Wi-Fi profile once again. While you're at it, it never hurts to do a battery pull for good measure; remove your battery while your phone is powered on then replace it.

However, if you don't have BIS in place and you're trying to set up your BBM over Wi-Fi then HSingh2012's reply would apply.
