BIS drops when on 3G but stays connected on 2G

I have a bb9630 tour, verizon wireless, im situated in South Africa.

My BIS keeps dropping when my phone is on 3G but stays connected when its on 2G.

Why would this be?

Is there a setting of some sort to keep my 3G connected?

Re: BIS drops when on 3G but stays connected on 2G

Hello and welcome

Its possible that since it verizon model its 3G settings on the hardware are incompatible with the networks 3G bandwith here.

I'd contact your network provider for solutions.
