Took delivery of a new 2011 - 5 Series BMW with ConnectedDrive, but cannot get the Bold 9900 to work with it. BlueTooth connects and after approx 2 minutes the phone freezes and I have pull the batt out. Is there a software fix on the way?

i had been trying to call RIM to find a solution with no answer, I wassuing the 9800 Torch and was working very fine but once i swapped to the Bold 9900 issues started, at some stage my phone hanged up and would not start and i had to go and replace the set....this is the second Bold 9900 and every time i connect it to my car it hangs up and i have to remove the battery so mate please if you dont want to damage your phone disconnect it from the car.
i am driving the 550i GT 2011

The same here. Workarround what I use is to disable Bluetooth Audio and Office. As well I disabled encryption on connection with BMW (not sure if it is needed). It doesn't solve problem with droping the bluetooth connection, but at least phone doesn't freeze.
Other thing is strange- absolute silence from RIM regarding the problem. That part I doesn't like the most.
Keep in touch.

same for me with a BMW 525D 2009 and a 520D 2011. BMW answered me that the BB 9900 is not on the list of compatible smartphone for BMW !!!! .
a piece of advice : change your car !!!

Switching from my previous Bold ot the 9900 was striaght forward and never had these issues.
Device connects via Bluetooth at all levels and works fine.
Have you updated to the latest version of the software for the device?
Mine is a 2011 BMW 5 Msport, took delviery in July and phone came two weeks ago and worked first time without any issues
