BalckBerry 507 error persist. No way to recover the device reinstalling the software

I have a BB Bold 9790 with the "Error 507 Reload Software" message on the screen. I downloaded latest BlackBerry Desktop Software (7.1.0.32).

I click on "Connect to device", an error arises and I click into "Update". A screen appears searching for updates, and after that it shows "No Updates available" and there is no way to update the software.

 

Also tried into help menu, "restore configuration", the bb reboots but the 507 error is still there.

 

What can I do to force the installation of the original firmware?

Hello,

 

507 means that there is no OS installed to your BB...and, for whatever reason, the Desktop Software is, all alone, unable to obtain what you need. So, what you need to do is add, to your PC, the OS package you desire to install to the BB. So, download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire:

If that OS package is from a carrier other than the carrier for which your BB was originally manufactured, then delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
  • C:\Users\(your Windows UserName)\AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

Now launch the Desktop Software and connect your BB...the software should offer you the OS package you installed to your PC. If, during the process, your BB presents a "507" error, simply unplug the USB cord from the BB and re-insert it...don't do anything else...this should allow the install to continue.
