This worked for me. I got an otterbox case which acts like a buffer for the lock button. Now it doesn't unlock as easily and the screen stays locked. Without the case after 8 hours of not much use the battery would be at 25%. Now I able to get through an 8 hour day at 70%. I always lock the phone when I'm not using it now. I think the screen is a big drain on the battery. But anyway....thats what I did.

I use a 9700 holster, also look in Option, Device, Application Management, it is a great way to see what your apps are doing with your CPU usage on #Torch. Just slide top bar to CPU and see what is going on.
I found out that an app was eating away CPU cycles on mine and made the device and charger get warm as well, Guess the charger was unable to keep up with CPU demand.
