Battery dies fast after software updates

Can anyone explain or has anyone had the same problem where after a system update sent periodically the batter life goes from 2-3 days to 4-5 hours?

The last two updates I did with the BB plugged into an AC source and even when plugged in, the battery goes from 100% to red bar within 2-3 hours.  I've gotten a new battery from Verizon after each update I've done in the past.

What are the consequences if you ignore the software updates?

Re: Battery dies fast after software updates

If your device is working well, with no problems, you don't have to update. But I'd still recommend it.

Per your battery:  The BlackBerry cotaines an on-device battery meter. When you wipe/upgrade, it actually resets or puts the on-device battery meter at a new level, sorta confusing it as to what is 100%, or full.

Read my charging tips here for the point on how to reset that battery meter...
