I am experiencing very frustrating battery issues on my BB Curve 9300. I bought the device a month ago and had a brand new battery installed in no later than yesterday.
Battery life is about 3 to 5 hours at the very best, whilst I am not using any specific 3rd party application.
In addition, the "clock" apprears on a very frequent basis, slowing the system dramatically.
I do not have any files saved on the media card ... Wi-fi has been disabled already as have Bluetooth. LAt, connection the mobile network is fine so I do not believe it has to do with the device desperately seeking connection.
Is it related to the device software? Can someone please help solve the issue?
PS: I am based in France with SFR being my provider.

I had this issue after upgrading to 6.0 software on my curve 9300.
The fix for me was to go to Options - Device - Storage - and click off the 'Enable Compression' option.
Other people have said that it worked itself out after a few days - but I went for 2 weeks and it didn't work itself out on mine until I did the above.

Thanks for the tip. As advised, I unticked the "Enable Compression" in the Option / Device / Storage Menu.
Battery consumption was about 20% of its full capacity in c. 12 hours.
I just hope the "Enable Copression" option is not too critical for other aspect of my Bbery usage!

I'm glad it helped. I have had mine set this way for several months and haven't noticed any difference except that my battery doesn't drain as fast.

Thanks the disable compression fix worked perfectly for me. You are a legend.
Wonder if Blackberry have done anything about fixing this issue in the next software release. Any idea what the compression setting actually does?

I think the battery problem is more prominent in the O.S 6.0.Earlier i was using Curve 9300 on OS 5.0 and i never faced any baterry isses. Recently i upgraded my O.S to 6.0 and all the hell broke lose. I am facing battery issues now , my phone is getting hanged up badly also sometimes my blackberry turns off automatically. I am really frustrated.
May be i should downgrade my blackberry to O.S 5.0.
