Black/Flickering Screen - Bold 9900

I think, since updating to OS 7, when resuming from the locked screen half my screen starts to flicker or go completely black. The touch screen still works and you can barely see to navigate.

 

Is this happening to anybody else? Besides downgrading to OS 6 can anyone think of a resolution?

My phone is doing exactly the same thing - did you get it sorted an what was the issue?

I am having the exact same problem, have now downgraded to os v7.0.0.585 to see if that helps.

have tried everything that the blogss tell you to do but it still doesn't make any difference. it appears to be linked to the applications. i also tried to downgrade and it didn't fix problem. also welcome help on what is best to do?

I had to return my handset to the shop for a new one.

Having the same issue on the bottom half of the screen since last software update.

Hey Jamtastic87,

Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.

 

I would suggest doing a clean reload of the BlackBerry® device software as shown here: http://btsc.webapps.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320. Please test before restoring any data to the device.

If this resolves the issue do a selective restore of essential data (Address Book, Calendar, Task, Memos, BBM contacts etc.)

If the issue still persists after the reload, further investigation might be required. To help further diagnose the cause, contact your wireless service provider or BlackBerry® Technical Support Services for further review and support.

I was facing the same issue. And resolve through:

 

1) Just download latest BB desktop manager

2) Connect your device with PC and go on application tab and install latest recommended patches. 

3) It will take approx 30-40 mins. After that it will work fine.
