Black square clock

Hi new to all this so forgive daft questions. I have a 9800 which keeps freezing when a black square clock appears in the middle of the screen. This is happening more frequently and I don't know what it is or how to get rid of it. also in the top right corner also in a black square appears the letters EN don't know what this means either. Would really appreciate it if someone could help. Many thanks, Nick.

Re: Black square clock

When a BlackBerry device is facing memory constraints then this occurs in the device. To know more on this issue check the below knowledge base articles -

  • KB02843 What is the Low Memory Manager feature on the BlackBerry smartphone
  • KB14320 How to maximize battery life and free memory on the BlackBerry smartphone

Also consider having periodic device reset: When you device is POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery. This make a reboot to your device which resolves minor issues with the BlackBerry device.
