I have got a Dutch bb 9700 and couldn't get Chinese input working it. Untill just now... Downloaded a lot of different versions of eastasian OS, but couldn't get Chinese input working... Untill I downloaded Eastasian of vodafone UK version (9700jEastAsia_PBr5.0.0_rel541_PL184.108.40.206_A220.127.116.11
With this version I could add Chinese as a input language, but not Dutch.. First I thought that it wasn't a big problem, since I use English for the menu's anyway.... But after installing I found out that the autotext is very annoying, when typing dutch words while using English as input language...
So I downloaded the multilanguage OS version (9700M_PBr5.0.0_rel541_PL18.104.22.168_A22.214.171.1244_KPN) again. But if I install this version on my phone I would loose the chinese input again, so in the end I did the following:
I install both versions on my computer (make sure that the multilanguage and Eastasian has the version number, as you can see I used V126.96.36.1994). Then go to Program Files>>Common Files>>Research in Motion>>Shared>>Loader Files, in this folder you see the folders of the loader files of both version..
I merged these two folders into one and then started loader.exe to install it on my phone...
This time I could choose both Chinese and Dutch (plus English and other european languages)..

I think my BB already has the language pack, I used to be able to read and switch input language (to Chinese). But suddenly I just lost the switch input language section on the options. I still can read Chinese though. Went through the setting, tried the input language selection shortcut, just doesn't work. I am pretty sure I didn't change any setting.
Does anyone know what happened? And anyhow can fix it??

I followed the detailed instructions to install, but I'm unable to see the East Asian languages installed on my blackberry 9700 from T-Mobile. Only can see the English (United States) and English (United Kingdom). What should I do?

Go to this site and download these two operating systems:
BlackBerry Handheld Software v188.8.131.525 (Multilanguage)
Package Version: 184.108.40.2065
BlackBerry Handheld Software v220.127.116.115 (EastAsia)
Package Version: 18.104.22.1685
then follow MisurA's Desktop Manager install on page one.
Worked for my AT&T 9700 bold. - for chinese language display. P.S. I don't input in Chinese.

I have followed MisurA steps and it definately works.
Originally I tried to use Device Software from Taiwan Mobile but was not successful but after downloading HK CSL and removing the Vendor.xml file and it works.
One note though, if I use the Blackberry Desktop Manager and click on Application loader then it still does not show. One has to use the Uploader application under C: drive -> program files -> common files -> Research In Motion -> AppLoader folder
Then the Eas Asia language will show.
Before installing the language pack my Application version was 22.214.171.1246 and now it is 126.96.36.1993.
Thanks for the valuable post here. I can read and input traditional Chinese on my blackberry.
