I have been pulling my hair out since last Friday, trying to get the BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Sametime v2.5.20 to work on my new Blackberry Torch to no avail.
I am running BB Desktop Manager 18.104.22.168.
I have tried repeated installs and removals of the Sametime Client on the Torch.
It appears in the last of installed applications, but no where else on the blackberry.
When you examine the properties of it on the Blackberry, it appears as Enterprise Messenger, Research In Motion, 2.5.20.
If you go into it, it states that it is installed, but not running.
I am a long time Blackberry user and administrator and have never run into anything like this on a Blackberry.
Has anyone else run into this, or happed to know where I can obtain a newer (perhaps compatible) version of the BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Sametime for the Torch?

I was not even able to install the client as it says it is not compatible with Torch (messenger version 2.5)
Can you provide any pointers how you have installed on the torch so I can let you know how it went in my case

A colleague on another forum gave me an updated sametime.alx file that he used to install it on his Blackberry Torch successfully. http://forums.crackberry.com/showthread.php?t=5144
At this point, I have tried everything that I can think of to resolve the issue.
This could perhaps be real show stopper for me as I use BlackBerry Client for IBM Lotus Sametime everyday.
Perhaps someone will soon have a solution, or another updated version will be made available for the Torch / Blackberry OS 6.x.
Please let me know when progress, if any that make with this issue as well.

Thanks..I have gone through the other forum you have sent the link for and following the instructions it is working for me now just fine.
I have created the For_6.0.0 folder and dropped the files from For_5.0.0
Started up the desktop manager v6 and used import files and chosen the modified sametime.alx file
The error screen prompted that there are no applications to load on the device
BUT it appeared in the Application section and chose the + sign to add and then apply and rest went smooth.
Seems like it inherits the touch screen controls in V5 for storm device while perfectly integrated with the short context visual menu.
Not sure what to suggest you other than trial and error by repeated uninstall and install. Perform a clean uninstall using DM and then follow the steps as above which I am sure you might have done.
I am attaching the complete zip with the software and modified alx file.

My installation file must have been corrupted somehow.
I downloaded the installation from the link that you provided, and viola!
Thank you SO very much!
I have been banging my head against the wall on this for a few days now.

Here is the official response from RIM.
"We will be putting out a maintenance release of the V.5 Blackberry Client for Connections that will support the Torch with OS 6.
No new features in the release, just support for Torch and OS6.
General Availability is targeted for mid-October.
We recommended that the proxy server be set-up and the communications between the Blackberry device and the Connections server be tested prior to the maintenance release."

Hi there everyone. I have managed to install the customized app. Thanks very much for posting it.
However, how do I specify my server? There is no field or option for doing so - only the username and password.

I believe that it is determined by your Blackberry Server(s).
The client should automatically connect once you log in with the correct credentials.
