BlackBerry - Curve 8520 - unable to connect via USB

Hi,

 

I just picked up BlackBerry Curve 8520  and I love it., but so far am unable to connect this via USB. Whever I connect using the USB cable with the Berry connected on the other end, my PC just restarts.

 

I tried connecting the same USB with some Pen drive or my iPod, it works fine for me.

 

I am new to this, so please tell me if there is specific configuration I need to do before or while connecting.

Your PC reboots when you connect your BB? That's an odd one...nevertheless, here is the list of troubleshooting atricles...hopefully something will be useful:

Also, check that you are using only root USB ports...no hubs (sometimes the front-side ports are hubs...use a rear USB port). And make sure to try disabling USB power management in your system configuration (Device Manager).

Apologies in advance if this is redundant -- there's no way to be sure if you've already seen and tried these.
