Re: BlackBerry® Desktop Manager failed to connect to your BlackBerry® device.

Here are the two things I would do...navigate to user/username/library/application support and delete the blackberrydesktop folder.  Empty the trash, restart the Mac, repair permissions and try again.

For the browser you need to resend the service books (how you do that depends on if you are BIS or BES)...then you can search.

Re: BlackBerry® Desktop Manager failed to connect to your BlackBerry® device.

Not sure what you mean by "repair" permissions" (newbie to Mac OS), but I dis remove the stated directory (cleared the trash and re-booted). All I gained for DM not to ask for the device password anymore ;-(

Do you thonk the DM log file help sort out the issue?

Re: BlackBerry® Desktop Manager failed to connect to your BlackBerry® device.

[ Edited ]

So when you connect the device to the mac, does the SD card show up as a removable drive?  What usb port are you connecting to?

Make sure you read through the posts in the third sticky above.

for repair permisions:

System Preferences>select your HD>repair permissions

Re: BlackBerry® Desktop Manager failed to connect to your BlackBerry® device.

Thanks for the hint on the permissions. Now I was able to complete all the suggested actions. Unfortunately still the same result. The error message I'm getting is still "...unable to connect... Please reconnect and try again." Another observation: whenever I type in the device password and hit enter, the BB screen turns black and shows two symbols, a computer icon and a BB device next to it. Once I confirm the error message with OK, the black screen disappears. What is interesting though is that both the SD card and the BB device directory do show up in the list of devices (Finder). Any suggestions?

Re: BlackBerry® Desktop Manager failed to connect to your BlackBerry® device.

So after jacking the OP's thread, perhaps you should start by telling us what mac, what mac os, what device, etc...instead of just posting the problem symptoms.

Re: BlackBerry® Desktop Manager failed to connect to your BlackBerry® device.

Sorry for that. Should have been clear on that straight from the beginning, but assumed this to be a given by the very first post of this thread. iMac 3.06 Intel Core 2 Duo Mac OS X Version 10.6.2 BB 9000 Bold (Enterprise) Equipped with 8GB MCSD card Connection via USB Memory settings: Media Card support = on; Mass Storage Mode Support = On OS version 4.6.0.126 (Platform 4.00.135) Hopefully you will find this useful.

Any update this???  I have the same problem -- works fine on Windows, just not mac.  Same errors as in the log posting above.
