BlackBerry Platform and BlackBerry Desktop issues.

I bought my Blackberry Bold 9000 used and it is about 2 years old. I noticed my battery was dying faster than normal one day but did not think it was an issue until ithe battery only lasted 3 hours. Then my phone started to turn off randomly (even if I had three bars of battery remaining).

I had downloaded Whatsapp as well as Facebook and then noticed that my screen would fade to complete white until I would have to pull the battery.

Now I am not sure if this is my battery or the apps I have downloaded. I did some research and decided to try a new OS.

I backed up all my files using Blackberry Desktop 7.0 and proceeded to follow the SECOND post of this forum: http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Device-software-for-BlackBerry/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-S... Everything was going smoothly until BlackBerry Desktop cannot connect to my phone. The screen still has the Platform open, and I cannot even delete BB desktop, it will not allow me to. I have no idea where this problem started and now my phone won't even operate, please help!

Re: BlackBerry Platform and BlackBerry Desktop issues.

Hi miranda-doughty,

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.

If your BlackBerry® is unable to connect with the BlackBerry® Desktop Software, please try the steps in one of the following KB articles to force a connection so you can reload your BlackBerry® Device Software.
If you are using a Windows® computer: http://bbry.lv/L13o3O
If you are using a Mac: http://bbry.lv/NtreH7

Please note that this procedure will remove all data from your BlackBerry® Bold™ 9000 smartphone.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, I would recommend contacting your wireless provider for further assistance.

Hope this helps.
