Blackberry 7730, v4.0.0.218, no browser, no email - help!!

Hi all,

I bought myself a blackberry off of ebay.  It came without a data cable but I have bought one and it is on the way.

I want to connect to my work emails but my IT guy says i need to give him the email and password for the blackberry, i have no idea what that is.

I have no browser icon and cannot connect to the net.

Am i left with the legacy of the last users settings or can i rectify this?

My enterprise activation has a screen like this:

Email:

Password:

Pin...........20156FE8

I would gratefully appreciate any and all help Smiley Happy

Thanks Smiley Happy

Hi guineverenwa;

1.) Wipe your old device by going to OPTIONS / SECURITY / GENERAL SETTINGS / Wipe Device

2.) Use the setup wizard if it is available. If not, it appears that you know where the enterprise activation is.

OPTIONS / ADVANCED OPTIONS / Enterprise Activation

3.) The email is your email address at work. Example: someone@somewhere.com

4.) The password is set by the BES Admin and will need to be provided to you.

Once you have the password, you can then add your email address and password the BES admin gave you and activate your BB by using the menu button and it will show you Activate.

I hope this answers your questions and let us know how your doing...

H.

Your BES Admin is the person at your work place that runs the BES Server. He has to set a password in order to activate your device. Once he gives you this password, you will need to enter your work internet email address (someone@somewhere.com) and use the password he as provided. This would allow you to complete a wireless activation.

If you have your work computer and are in an exchange environment with Outlook, you can connect your USB cable and complete a "wired activation" without a password. This would have some additional items that would need to be in place for this to work.

If you have an IT dept. they should be able to assist you with this. You will have to find out if they can create an account for you on the BES server.

Does this clarify things for you?

Re: Blackberry 7730, v4.0.0.218, no browser, no email - help!!

Hiya,

My BES admin person doesnt know what to do...lol

We have a microsoft exchange server but will i need to connect via usb everytime i want to collect my mails or is this just the first time to set it up?

What additional items would need to be in place?

My BES guy did say he could create an account for me to direct my mails to the email address on my blackberry but he wanted the email address and password that was on my blackberry, which i thought would be my work email...lol so confusing!!

Sorry if im asking really stupid questions, i do appreciate your help!
