I have a Blackberry 8100. It used to sync without issue through USB connection to my desktop. I had not sync'd for quite a while. Now when I try to sync, the device shows that is connected (both Blackberry and Desktop Manager). The error message that I get is 'Failed to connect to the device. Please make sure that the device is properly connected and try again.' I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Desktop Software as suggested in one of the postings. but that did not seem to help. I have used Desktop Manager versions 4.2 (I think), 4.7 and not 4.6. I have tried multiple USB connectors through multiple ports that work for other uses. I have Windows XP and Office 2003. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
