Blackberry 8310 Battery

Hello everybody,

Since a short time i'm the (un)happy owner of a Blackberry 8310.

My question is how does it come i may be happy with 1 day of working phone while 17 days of standby is given by RIM?

Please can someone help me, because i really don't understand.

Is there anything to do with the battery for full power?

Thanks in advantage.

Re: Blackberry 8310 Battery

How long have you had it? Honestly, a real new device by a new user gets lots of "use" and the battey life during that initial period can be short because you are using it quite a bit.

You may also have applications in the background running which you have not closed. May I recommend you read these battery tips I posted here:

Re: Blackberry 8310 Battery

Thank you for the reply JSanders,

I have it now for 2 weeks, i don't use it as a phone, only as PDA system atm.

I practically never use it. In the few first days i did play alot thats true.

But now i'm a week further and for example, yesterday i checked if everything was closed.

So bluetooth, gps, applications are all closed and the battery drained 45% off only during night! (without any use)

Also, if i don't use the phone, i put it back in its holster while its put on stand-by mode.

So i don't really know what the problem is. But i'm not happy at all about with the capacity of this Li-ion battery.

When i look for applications who are still open, i find 4 applications that are always open, telephone, browser, messages and the startscreen. (Checked with alt return)

Thank you already for the reply.

PS: buying an extended-life battery is no option.

Those four apps will always run in the background.

And seidioonline.com is developing an extended life battery, I heard from them a days ago.
