IF device manager can see it, why don't you try to do a software (OS) update? and see if that will help?
otherwise, maybe get crackUtil or JL_cmder and see if you can reset to factory specs (will erase all existing data/addresses and such. basically like it was just coming off the assembly line). then from there if that works, you can plug it in and DM should guide you through a software update.
