Blackberry 9790 - Call Issues

I upgraded 2 a 9790 in April. I have a really aannoying problem with this handset, I will be on a call (it can be incoming or outgoing) & the handset will shut down. I then need 2 remove the battery (sometimes several times) b4 the handset will reset & switch back on.

Does anyone else with a 9790 have this problem & does anyone know wot is causing my handset 2 do this?

Sorry to hear you are having issues with your BlackBerry® Bold™ 9790 smartphone.


Does your device display any error message when this powering down happens? Does it automatically power back on or does it remain in a turned off state until you remove the battery? 


If you were to hold the Power button down rather than removing the battery, what happens? 


I would suggest you reinstall the device software. Use the BlackBerry® Desktop Software to backup your personal data and follow the steps in KB11320 How to perform a clean reload of the BlackBerry Device Software for Windows and make a call before restoring your data file. 


If the same behaviour occurs then I would recommend you contact your point of sale for further investigation.

Hello first of all i would like to say that i really like my Bold 9790. I am experiencing problems with my phone turning off whist receiving and making calls. I have only had my phone for approx 2 weeks and need hand holding with exactly what to do from beginning to end if i need to reinstall the operating system i need help ie. when i go to a page please tell me the exact link name, there seems several there not just one. do i need to download one for windows and one for the phone? I look forward to your reply.
