Blackberry 9900 Hold Problem - Please Help !

Dear All,

I have a problem with my 9900 that is driving me crazy. For no reason for several weeks now, whenever I call someone or someone calls me. My Blackberry 9900 wil put that caller on hold several times during the call and than call some random number of my contact list instead. I then have to disconnect that call first and resume to my original call. Its annoying to say the least.

Can anyone help me out ?

Re: Blackberry 9900 Hold Problem - Please Help !

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness shows up, the first thing to try is a proper reboot:

  • Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
  • BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. If this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.

See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Good luck!

I had same problem Orange changed my phone and it still continued to happen I would be on a call it would hold that call and randomly call someone in my call history. I was told it wasn't a phone problem it was the heat from my face touching the screen!! Clever hey it could press hold, add a participant and dial another number all while I wasn't looking at it ..... Utter rubbish! It's obviously a phone issue!
