Blackberry 9930 - Sync only 1 Calendar, but keep email from all accounts

I've had this problem for years now and have pretty much just lived with it.  But, in determing if I switch to an iPhone or stay with a Blackberry, I'd like to know how to actually do the following:

Is it possible to have multiple email accounts (exchange account for work, POP accounts for personal / volunteer work), but ONLY synchronize 1 calendar (exchange account)?

In the Desktop Manager, there doesn't appear to be a way to REMOVE other calendars.  If I synchronize, I often get MULTIPLE duplicates of the exact same meeting.  My settings are to go from my Computer to my device ONLY.  There is no 2-way synchronization.  My default calendar is my exchange account.  My CMIME is also that of the exchange account.

We do not have an Exchange server for my blackberry.  All email accounts are established through Verizon's email setup.

Any ideas?  I've tried all of the other suggestions for removing duplicates and they work ... right up until I synchronize again.
