Blackberry App World Log In Error

My blackberry curve has suddenly stopped allowing me to log in. I use the correct email address and password but "An error has occured. Please try later" keeps popping up and I've been trying for 3 weeks and it still won't let me log in. It all started when I installed an update for blackberry messenger.
Any ideas???

Re: Blackberry App World Log In Error

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!

Here is a KB that discusses that error:

  • KB25882"An error has occurred. Please try again later" is displayed when the user attempts to login to BlackBerry App World

Hopefully it contains something useful!

Good luck and let us know!

Re: Blackberry App World Log In Error

That worked! Many thanks! I now have another problem. I recently had a message sent to my phone requesting I update my blackberry app world. I did that, and blackberry app world has dissappeared! And so has facebook and twitter. I've wiped all applications off which I have installed and tried to re-install it but it says I already have it installed, but I can't find it anywhere. Can I restore it to factory settings? I think my phone needs completely starting from scratch. I'm sick its always crashing and deleting things and not working.

Re: Blackberry App World Log In Error

Apologies for the delay...

From a PC, you can install any OS package to a BB via this procedure:

Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. You can even use a different carriers OS package by simply inserting, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, of a file named VENDOR.XML. Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:

  • KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software

There are more severe things to try (e.g., using BBSAK or JL_CMDR to wipe the EPROM and then reload), but you might want to take the attempts in stages. It concerns me that you were able to reinstall yet they remain shown as installed yet not visible. Are you sure the icons aren't hidden? (Activate Show All to check) And be sure to dig deeply into each and every folder (including any folders you may have hidden).

Good luck and let us know!
