Blackberry Bold 9900 - Keyboard not responding

Hello guys, Recently, all of a sudden, my keyboard for bb bold 9900 has stopped responding. I didn't drop it or get it wet. The touchscreen works but I can't unlock my phone since I can't type anything. It has os 7.1. I have already tried pulling out the battery several times but it hasn't worked. The only key that the phone is responding to is the volume decerease button. That too, just to light up the screen when it goes off. I have looked up this issue on the internet including these forums but haven't found any solution. I have had this phone for 3 years now so its no longer under warrantee. I would really appreciate your help!

I would suggest creating a backup of your data: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB33505 and then follow the steps in this KB article: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB11320

 

Then test the keyboard prior to restoring any data.  If the issue still persists then I suggest contacting your network service provider for repair options.
