Here's my problem: today, after having unplugged my blackberry from the computer, it started to shut down every minute (I mean, when it restarts, one or two minutes after it reboots) and has been doing it for hours!
The problem is that I cannot even try to update the OS nor restore the original configuration as I don't have time enough before it shuts down!
I tried to use it without the SIM card, didn't change anything.
My biggest concern is that I cannot do anything since I cannot keep it on more than a few minutes!
Anyone has ever encountered the same problem? Is there a way to fix it other than sending it back to the company (hoping the guarantee hasn't expired...)?
Your carrier: SFR (French)
Model info and OS version: Blackberry Bold 9900
7,1,0 Bundle 2061 (v 7,1,0,714, platform 5,1,0,532)
Apps and free space
Nothing to do with the battery, pulled it out several times didn't change anything.
Not a lot of apps except the classic ones (facebook etc...) and haven't installed a new one for several months.
Can't get a lot of info as it keeps shutting down and rebooting...
The only thing I was doing before the problem occured was charging it on the computer (not even synchronizing it). I unplugged it as I always do and it started to go mad.
What is worth a thousand words
Sorry no picture and I don't think a picture would be useful...
Thanks a lot in advance for your help.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
Good luck and let us know!

Thank you for your prompt answer.
I restarted it in Safe Mode but it didn't change anything. After about 1 minute, it rebooted.
What I don't understand, is that I did absolutely nothing the recent days. No new app, no update. I just use it normally (facebook, mail, text messages etc...).
I will try to restore all the parameters, maybe it will change something.
If you have another idea...

Sometimes things simply go wonky...I dearly hope that you already have a good backup of everything, for from what you describe, you are unlikely to be able to take one as you continue to try and recover this situation. If your BB is very new, then you may want to just take it back for formal support and not deal with trying to recover it now...after all, it might actually be a hardware problem (there is no way, at an internet distance to truly diagnose that...we can perhaps "deduce" to hardware being likely, but we cannot diagnose 100%).
If you wish to proceed, then please follow these steps (PC, not MAC):
1) Uninstall, from your PC, any BB OS packages
2) Make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed
3) Download and install, to your PC, the BB OS package you desire for your BB:
4) If that OS package is from a carrier other than the carrier for which your BB was originally manufactured, then delete, on your PC, all copies of VENDOR.XML...there will be at least one, and perhaps 2, and they will be located in or similarly to (it changes based on your Windows version) these folders:
Now, see these KBs (try them in order, please)...but, wherever they talk about using an "update website", please instead use the Desktop Software you installed above:

Well, it looks like nothing work... I don't know how can I even delete anything on it as it keeps shutting down.
I think I'll send it back to the shop... I bought it last year and it worked fine until now.
Anyway, thank you for your answer.

Seeing that I didn't need the phone to be on to run the software I gave it a try and it worked! Looks like everything is fine (I just used the first KB you have). I have lost my contacts but that's my bad I should have saved them a while ago.
Thanks a lot for your precious help and keep doing this!
