Blackberry Bold HELP!

Hello,

My name is Cori and I recently purchased a Blackberry Bold 9700 and I need help.  I tried downloading a weather app and it keeps asking me for my password for my e-mail I'm giving it my password for my yahoo account and it is telling it is not able to authenticate my password now.  I even signed up for a blackberry ID login thinking that would be easier but it did not help... I'm obvious very novice at this new contraption.  Can anywho who is knowledgeable with this device possibly help me.   I'm also getting a short menu up on my screen that keeps popping up and I don't want it to I have looked in my instructional manual with no luck.  I'm feeling very frustrated with this if you can;t tell.  Please help
