Blackberry Contacts/Software CDs

I have just recently switched to the Blackberry 8330 from a Palm Treo.  I have a few issues that maybe someone can assist me in.  First, the two software discs that were sent to me were unreadable in my CD drive.  I have downloaded the Blackberry Desktop off the website, but I was wondering is there anything else important or valuable on those discs that I might need?  Also, I couldn't find any information regarding contacts on the Desktop.  When I had my Palm, the software would let me enter all the contact information in on the computer, which was then transferred to my Palm when I synced it.  Is there anyway to transfer my contacts from the computer to my Blackberry in this manner?

Thanks in Advance

Re: Blackberry Contacts/Software CDs

I don't know, I also trashed the CD by mistake ! Smiley Happy

about the palm thing : it does not work the same way.

for blackberry, you need a PIM (personal information manager) like Lotus or Outlook to put your contacts on.
Then it works : you can synchronize your contacts from and to the Blackberry. Same for calendar and email.

Re: Blackberry Contacts/Software CDs

Hi and welcome to the forums!

We can send you the procedure, but it is important

to know what version of Outlook and what version

of Desktop software you use. We need to address

any compatibility issues beforehand.

Also specify:

PC, OS (if vista 32 or 64 bit,

Model phone and the OS on the phone,

(Find the OS on the BB go to options/about/looks live 4.x.x.xxx)
