Blackberry Curve 8310

I have an old BB Curve 8310. As my old computer was stolen, I have a new windows 8 computer. I am desperate to upload all my contacts etc from my old phone to MS Outlook on my Windows 8 computer before buying a new phone.. Can anybody help. I can't backup my old phone as the original BB user tools disc will not load and I cannot find a way of downloading  appropriate Desktop manager software.

I would be very grateful for any help.

Re: Blackberry Curve 8310

Thanks but not a very good solution. I am new to these forums so did not expect my post to be moved without notification. However the first option before even trying to reload my old disc was to download from the link mentioned below. I have already tried it twice. It downloads OS 710_b042. This does not instal either. I ended up downloading it twice and trying to instal. Am i doing something wrong or is Windows 8 creating a problem. I have checked in all my program folders and only the orig download is visible but uninstalled.

Thanks again.

Really? I thought it was exactly what you asked for? Did I misunderstand your first post?

The mods are always doing "housekeeping", trying to keep threads in the topic area to which they apply. You might be surprised by the quantity of threads that are started in a section to which the subject of the thread does not apply. Keeping things in their proper forum location makes it much better for folks who come along later to search and find prior threads that apply to their situation..."misfiled" threads makes that harder for those "future folks".

Also, you can always quickly find your own posts via your own "About" page:

Oh...sorry, you neglected to mention that in your first post...so I had no way to know...

From what you've said, I can't tell..."does not instal" doesn't really give us anything to go on. What, exactly, happens when you try? Any screen messages? Any errors? Any other hints at all?

Please remember, we can't see your device nor your computer...all we have is the words you use to describe your situation. The more detail you provide, the better the chance that we can understand your situation.

Possibly...it is tricky, from what I've read here, to get things to work properly with Win8. Refer:

  • KB32926 Support for BlackBerry Desktop Software on Microsoft Windows 8

You also would be wise to search this specific (where your post was moved to) forum section for other threads re:Win8...there are many.

Good luck!
