Blackberry Curve 9360 - Frozen during an update

My son has a blackberry curve 9360 and was doing an update. The phone was trying to restart to complete the process and has got stuck. It keeps trying to restart  over and over again. We don't even get to the menu. We have tried removing the battery and tried to restart by pressing the alt, aA(arrow) and del button together but it doesn't work. Any ideas??
