Blackberry Curve with D-Link Xtreme 11n

Is anyone using this wireless router with the Curve? I cannot seem to get a connection with the Blackberry. It sees the network ok but cannot connect. Wireless works with other networks but I've had no luck here.

So, 11n is not supported? Are there plans for support?

Re: Blackberry Curve with D-Link Xtreme 11n

Ok, doing some more digging this morning I found a review site that said they moved the 8320 over to their D-Link DIR-655 without issue so it does work. I just need to figure out why mine is not.

Re: Blackberry Curve with Idling Extreme 11n

Nice document - makes a good reference. Thanks.

Did find a reference on www.blackberryforums.com where a user indicated they had to enter the phone's PIN into the router because of the WiFi Protected Setup feature. Will be trying this when I'm at home next

Re: Blackberry Curve with Idling Extreme 11n

Ok, I've got it working. It had to do with getting a PIN number from the device to give to the router. This PIN is different than the BlackBerry pin. I don't recall the exact steps I used but it was something like:

  1. Go to Manage Connections and selected my home network (Winery)
  2. Selected to connect to the network
  3. The Curve asked me if I wanted to activate (enter?) WiFi Protected Setup. I selected yes.
  4. The Curve displayed a PIN number and started to count down to connect (about 5 Minutes).
  5. In the Router's WiFi Protected Setup (under advanced) screen I selected to a wireless station.
  6. Gave the Router the new PIN number from the Curve and clicked connect.
  7. Waited about 3 minutes but the connection was finally made.

Seems everything is fine now.
