In your Windows click on Start button, then Programs -> Startup
Is there "Desktop Manager" icon shown ?
If so - right click on it, and select from menu "Delete"
It should help.
Check this and post here, how it is going.

Thanks for your response. Before I try this, I have a few more questions.
1. Will doing this disable the desktop manager completely?
2. Will the desktop icon disappear?
3. If so, then how do I launch it?
All help most appreciated!

If you delete Desktop Manager icon from the Startup (Start - Programs - Startup) as described in previous post, Desktop Manager will remain on your computer, but it won't launch on the system startup.
It will be possible to launch it manually via Start - Programs - BlackBerry - Desktop Manager.

It worked beautifully and thanks for all the help!
P.S. Since I'm new to this forum, I'd like to not only give you Kudos, but indicate Resolved. Not sure how to do so!

I have the similar problem... i format my pc and the xp starts for a bout 25 - 30 seconds ... after installing Desktop Manager it needs 2 :30 minutes ... it seems like some process is waiting to be up and then some of the Desktop Manager process like RoxWatch9.exe, RoxLiveShare9.exe, RoxioUpnpService9.exe are killed automatically, and the xp is reаdy to use ... it is not problem for me to wait but why wait for 3 minutes when you can wait 1min ...

Did you get help with the Desktop Manager launch problem? I tried to copy and paste the responses that helped me to this reply but when previewed it was unreadable. So I don't know how to "forward" the helpful responses to you. Perhaps you could post for all on the forum.
