I spoke to someone at your helpdesk last week about a problem I have with not being able to install BlackBerry desktop to my new computer which has windows 8. He told me to download and enable the .Net framework 3.5 in my Control Panel but is has not resolved my problem. I am desperate to sync my BlackBerry contacts to my new computer.
I am able to download the BB Desktop, but when I click on Run, the following window appears after all the files have been unzipped:

i have the same problem but on windows XP
i get error message after it unzips and windows installshield wizard starts.
it says "Installation Files cannot be validated. Please verify the installer package and try again."

I have the same problem, trying to install the destop software on Windows 8

Also please be sure to seek out other threads here...Win8 is rather new, and there are plenty of threads discussing issues with it.
