Blackberry Device Driver does not install

No matter what I try, I cannot get my Windows 7 64bit PC to install a device driver and recognise my Blackberry BOLD 9700.

I have reinstalled Desktop Manager.

I have tried repairing and updating the driver in device manager using "Let me pick from device drivers on my computer" - it sees the "Blackberry Smartphone" driver but fails saying "Windows found device driver software for your device but encountered an error whilse trying to install it" and then "Windonws cannot initialise the device driver for this hardware (Code 37)" but when I google this error there are a number of complex and difficult repairs suggested including registry changes that I dont know how to make.

I have downloaded and run the the "BlackBerry USB and Modem Drivers_ENG" MSI package which supposedly grants access to BB via USB even if no Desktop Manager is installed.

Device Manager shows issues with:

- Blackberry smartphone

- DVD/CDROM TSST corp CDDVDW TS-H653N ATA Device

- Bluetooth Peripheral (as its trying to connect to Blackberry0

- Portable Devices MTP USB Device

- Ports RIM Virtual Servial Port v2 (COM4) and (COM5)

Help!! Need to sync my contacts!!
