Blackberry ID Issue

Hello all,

 

I have a new Blackberry Bold 9900 and I set up a Blackberry ID online. I ended up deleting the account a few days ago via the link sent in the confirmation email, but I re-registered today with the same email address. However, even though the email address has stayed the same, my phone won't let me log into my account - I guess because when I wiped the account, I deleted the device associated with it. What is the best way to resolve this issue? Will I have to wipe my phone to re-associate it with my account?

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

 

You should not have to WIPE...as long as you truly use the completely exact same credential information (email address, UserName), you should be able to just re-log into it on your device. But, it is also possible I suppose that, while your prior information (BBM Contacts, backup files, etc.) is supposed to re-link and be available, the new account may technically be "new", meaning you would have to WIPE in order to use it on this BB. Not having been in your exact situation, I can't be certain...but, since you cannot otherwise associate this BB to your "new" BBID, I would have to guess that a WIPE is indeed required.
