I have had a new sim put in phone, my blackerry ID no longer works on phone, though it works on pc. Emails all setup but can't access apps or syncronise etc without id. Vodafone don't know what to do so have no idea what to do. Would really appreciate some help.

The BlackBerry ID is not required to login to the email setup on your BlackBerry. The email setup uses credentials created through the BlackBerry Internet Service.

Exactly as I said there is no problem with emails just BB id. Can't authenticate can't synchronise, can't use apps, deleted BB ID started all over again, still same problem with new message......enter the user name associated with this smartphone......
Really had enough

I apologize as I misunderstood your first post.
Did your wireless provider transfer your data plan to the new SIM? You may not have the correct BlackBerry data plan setup.

I will ring them and ask but the level of understanding and possible solutions at vodafone have been exasperating to say the least! If this does solve the problem I will let you know as I don't seem to be the only one experiencing this anonamally...

one possible problem I can see is the screen name on my phone is still the old one, this is in the device settings, it can't be changed which in turn does not match the new ID. I could not have the same screen name when I reregistered having deleted old id on pc. Its the only thing I can see as different.

First of all, to clarify, you mean that your old BlackBerry ID is showing? When in BlackBerry App World>My World, try pressing the menu key and choosing Log Out.
Secondly, when logging into your BlackBerry ID, do you get an error message or does it just say waiting?

When logging into ID on phone it says please wait then brings up the message '! Enter the user name associated with this smartphone'
this same message comes up when trying to authenticate the id. The request to authenticate is dated from the 13th august when the first sim was used. The new sim was put in the phone on the 15th. Its probably irrelevant but having tried everything I'm at a loss what else to try.
