Re: Blackberry ID on smartphone and playbook

I tried to associate my phone again this morning in case the BlackBerry servers needed 12 hours to realize the old phone wasn't being used anymore but it didn't work.  Any other ideas?  Was there something that Verizon needed to do in order for this process to work?

Re: Blackberry ID on smartphone and playbook

It's possible that there is something on the back end that needs to be done. I do suggest you now contact VZW for formal support. Request escalation into RIM if they cannot resolve it directly. Don't let them fob you off with any "you need to contact RIM directly" types of statements...you have no means to do so...only via escalation from carriers can end users receive support directly from RIM.

Good luck!

Re: Blackberry ID on smartphone and playbook

After working with Verizon and BlackBerry we ended up doing the following:

 - Ensure all phones and computer logins to BlackBerry App World were logged off.

 - Backed up my new phone

 - Performed a Security Wipe of my Emails, Contacts, Etc.

 - After the device was wiped I set my BlackBerry ID to be my old one and was able to login just fine.

 - Restored my database through the Backup Restore functionality in the BlackBerry Device Manager.

Thank you for your help sdgardne
