Blackberry Messenger does not continue to work

Have a new Tour from Sprint.  When initially trying BBIM it prompted to install the latest version.  Since then, it works for about 5 minutes and then i am unable to click on a name or existing chat or the invite new user items to use the product.  I have deleted and re-installed the app 5 times with the same result.  It installs fine, it works great for a few minutes.  If i leave it and come back in a few hours and don't do anything else, it once again does not allow me to click on a person's name or even get to the menus when 'invite user' or an existing user's name is listed.  It also doesn't allow me to even view my profile when this happens.


I'm at a loss.  No errors.  Just doesn't continue to work.  Is there a way to go back to an older working version?

I would suggest this: Use your BlackBerry Messenger function to backup your contacts you have now, and also, do a complete backup using Desktop manager.

Then, go to Options > Advanced > Applications and scroll the Messenger application and don't click on it, just scroll to it. Click Menu > Delete and remove the application.

Now, do a reboot: With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.

Finally, use your BlackBerry browser to go to http://blackberry.com/blackberrymessenger and download/install the Messenger application again.

After installation and possibly another reboot, check your Instant Messaging Folder, or Downloads folder for the application.

You can restore your contacts from the BBM v.5 application or from the Desktop Manager > Backup/Restore > Advanced.
