Blackberry Password Keeper

I dropped my 9800 in the water - dead.

I`m backed up on Desktop, but my new 9800 didn`t come with Password Keeper, and AppWorld says it`s not available for my device.

Any ideas how to access Password Keeper on my desktop?

Thanks

Re: Blackberry Password Keeper

Are you certain there is no Password Keeper on the device?

1. On your homescreen, press the Menu key > SHOW ALL, so that SHOW ALL is checked.
2. Look in EACH folder on your device... Applications, Instant Messengers, Downloads, etc.
If you still don't see it, look at Options > Advanced > Applications. Do you see it listed there?

Re: Blackberry Password Keeper

Thanks JSanders, but it doesn't appear in the Applications All list, and the Search comes up No Application, so it looks like it's not on the device for some reason - it was included on my original 9800. This leaves me with the problem of getting it on the phone - I can see it as an app in Blackberry AppWorld, but when I try to instal it it, there is no "Synch" button on the screen, and it then says "This application is not available for your device". Is there a way of dragging it into Blackberry Desktop Software and getting it on the device that way? Is there no way of accessing the info on the backup except by downloading on to a Blackberry phone with Password Keeper installed? Thanks for your advice.

Re: Blackberry Password Keeper

You need to run the loader.exe file on your PC in your BlackBerry folder and check to install the Password keeper app.

Then, restore your earlier backup for the PK data only.

Search your PC for loader.exe and see if you have that already installed... if not, post back here and I will help.

Re: Blackberry Password Keeper

The problem is that Password Keeper doesn`t appear in the Apps list, or at least, it does until I sign in (which I have to do to download), then it doesn`t re-appear on the list.

Has Blackberry discontinued this app which is why it won`t reappear after sign in?

No, they have not discontinued it. It's still there.

So, you have no file on your PC named simply "loader.exe"?

Re: Blackberry Password Keeper

There are 4 files found when I search for loader.exe -

2 Blackberry update files for the Desktop Application   - these are the only ones that specifically say `loader.exe`

1 Boot loader for Windows

1 C:\Programme\Files\Common Files\ResearchInMotion\Apploader
