I have the same problem . BB ID Service is temporarily unavailable.
I called the Mobile Operator and told me there is no problem with my data plan and they are not responsable for loging in this application. In the other part, the application has also the function to connect Wireless without a data plan. Someone can give a serios resolvb of this situation ?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
A few clarifications...
I called the Mobile Operator and told me there is no problem with my data plan and they are not responsable for loging in this application.
The rep you spoke to was misinformed. ALL "free" formal support starts with the carrier. If they cannot resolve it, they have the ability (indeed, responsibility!) to escalate cases into RIM at no fee to you. You have no free method of directly seeking any support from RIM. As new services roll out, it is sadly quite typical to discover that the individual carrier reps do not have the proper information about the support model.
In the other part, the application has also the function to connect Wireless without a data plan.
I think you are misunderstanding that. Since use of BB Protect uses the infrastructure hosted by the carriers and/or RIM, the service does not come totally "for free". Rather, it is a service that comes included as part of a fully functional BB data plan from your carrier. The fact that it offers the ability to run via WiFi does not mean that you don't need that data plan...you do. Indeed, there are a great many services that are BB-proprietary that require a data plan, regardless of the channel of access to the service (e.g., WiFi or Carrier Data Network). Many of the services will function over either channel...but still require you to have a data plan in order to use them...and that includes BB Protect.
Someone can give a serios resolvb of this situation ?
Givent the context of the screen images you provided (excellent, btw!!!), it sounds like there is, at the time you were doing this, some temporary service interruption going on. If you only received that once, then the advice is the simple "try again" and hope that it has cleared. If it has been going on for a few hours, then it is possible that there is something else amiss...in which case I suggest the following.
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
2) Delete and Resend Service Books
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Hopefully that will get things going again for you!
Good luck and let us know!

I think I have a solution for the problem. I have a Storm 2 (9550) and had a problem with BlackBerry App World, BlackBerry Protect, Facebook, and Canada Post App. BB Protect was giving me " BlackBerry ID Service is Temporarily Unavailable", App World was saying "Blackberry appworld is having trouble connecting to the blackberry appworld server. verify your network connections and try again". Facebook was saying "A connection cannot be established to the Facebook server" and Canada Post app was just "finding no results" when I search for a postal code of a certain address. Appworld and Protect where working as Apps, but were not able to connect to the BB ID server. So what was the solution?
I tried the following methods that did not work:
1) Battery Pull
2) Reinstallation of the apps
3) downgrading appworld
4) changing BlackBeryy ID password
5) Restoring a year old backup
6) Sending service books
7) Contacting the carrier
8) Registering my phone on the network manually
9) Reading just about any article online inluding BlackBerry KBs! and none solved the problem.
I downgraded my OS 5 from bundle 1656 to bundle 1206 and everything was back to normal !!!!!!
I hope this helps.

i am on the verizon wireless network and i was experiencing the same problem as the origional post. i would like to thank 'sdgardne' for his excellent possible solutions to the problem. Even though my device had recently informed me that my BB was registered on the network (it tells me every month or so), forcing it to re-register on the netowrk solved the problem immediately. Once again, Thank you!

I did misunderstand these forums and obviously did not have the correct expectations. My expectation was that at some level somewhere in RIM would be able to help me get my BB Torch to work.
I apoligize for having the incorrect expectation of usefullness.

So here's what I got.
The "temporarily unavailable" message is a generic
This can be caused by all sorts of things.
If it does last for many days, it's definitely not
For that app to work you need full internet access
In my case, I have "unlimited BlackBerry data" bu
This depends on the supplier and their conception
Which brings us back to the whole uneven blackberr
Hope this helps.

Do not blame RIM for this... it's a supplier issue.
They're the ones that want your cash to allow access to certain site.
If you have full internet access, you will be able to access RIM server as any other internet server.
If you only have a limited internet access, like mine, such as, facebook and twitter your supplier blocks every web site except twitter and facebook. So they also block the BB protect web site.
