Blackberry Protect

I have a BBCurve 8520, OS 5.0.  I was excited to see BB Protect arrive but when I went to download I was advised it was NOT available for my model - WHY NOT?

Re: Blackberry Protect

You may try downloading it from your phone thru the Blackberry Appworld. Please let us know if you are successful.

Re: Blackberry Protect

I tried to download Blackberry Protect directly from my phone browser - no success.  I then went to my computer with my phone plugged in via USB and load the Blackberry Desktop program.  I disable my antivirus software and went to the BB Protect web site and attempted to download.  Both ways a no go.  The error I got:  The Item is not available for your Device Model, Device OS, Carrier and Country combination.  The Blackberry web site refuses to acknowledge my phone when I plug in even though I am operating a BB Curve 8520, OS 5.0, Carrier is T-Mobile, USA

My Mass Storage is on.  I don't know what else to do.  Any ideas?

Re: Blackberry Protect

Hello,

Do you have an active full-service BB-level data plan from your carrier? Without that, the BB Protect Service is not available. If you are unsure, contact your carrier to be certain.

Good luck!

Re: Blackberry Protect

If indeed this is "the fix" it should prominently be posted under requirements.

Re: Blackberry Protect

Thanks for including the URL. I missed it on the "download failed" page. Although I do have the required data plan.
