I recently got the Torch two weeks ago from Rogers and generally I don't have any problems with. But I've found that sometimes after I receive a call from someone and I've ended the call (by sliding the phone down), all my buttons stop working.
The Keyboard, lock button, call, end, etc. No button works. But however, the touch screen works.
I usually end up using the touch screen to turn off my phone and pull out my battery and put it back in.
From there it works again. Its happened four times now.
Has this happened to anyone else? If so, how did you fix it? Is it more of a hardware issue?
I'm rockin the BlackBerry DTEK60, Passport, Z30, Z10, Q10, BlackBerry Mini Stereo Speaker, 64 gig PlayBook,BT Headset HS-700

Same Problem here. 3 days old new torch 9800.
I have noticed that once you get a notification, none of the hard keys work.
This includes the touch sensor. The touch screen will work but you cannot go back to previous screens like the back key does.
I have to Pull the battery for it to reset.
Once it has happened once, it has become more frequent.
I have the latest updates.
Anyone know if this would be related to hardware or take the phone back and get an Iphone?
Any help or information is appreciated.

Its seems to happen when I lock the phone and place it in the holster (Curve). When I take the phone out, by notification of text / email /phone call, the touch screen works but the physical buttons do not.
Taking out the battery is the only way to reset the buttons. There is nothing I can do on the touch pad to get the buttons to work.
Again, anyone else having issues, or is it return time?

I recieved a handset upgrade last week and quickly found issues with the phone.
The keyboard froze when I went to accept an incoming call or text message. The screen would still work and just display the incoming call or password window.
I also couldn't get access to the internet even with a full 3G signal. It occasionally worked but normally just timed out and displayed an error message. This would happen with something as simple as a Google search.
With both problems the only way of getting the phone to work again was to pull the battery out to restart it.
I complained several times and received a replacement handset yesterday and unfortunately the same issues have started all over again.
The phone is great to use, but i just need to get the software issues fixed.

Based on a previous thread.
Some people have solved the problem.
It seems its caused by using a 9700 Holster (or a holster not designed for the torch) or certain cases.
I still use the 9700 holster, so I still have the problem once in a while, but the freezing has never happened when it wasn't in the holster, so who knows.
Try it out and see.

I bought the phone two days ago, and it locked up twice on me already. I am using the 9800 holster, so it cannot be the 9700 holster causing it.
This looks like a software bug to me?

I have since not used the holster, and so far, I have not had the issue.
It may be that the Holster in General is what is causing this. As the previous threads have indicated. Try not using a holster and see if the buttons still freeze / stop working without a battery pull.
