I have the following errors on my Blackberry Torch 9800:
If I try to open my blackberry app word it ask me the following:
A blackberry identity update is needed. Would you like to install it now?
If I say yes it runs fully and then gives me the following error:
Blackberry Identity installation failed please try again later.
I have spoken to my services providers Vodacom and they have requested I send you the error as they can’t help me.
Can you please assist me, I have a blackberry Id it just started giving me this error today.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Firstly...this is a user-to-user community, not a channel with which to have any formal communications with RIM. If Vodacom directed you here to formally contact RIM, then they gave you incorrect instructions. Indeed, end users have no free path by which to bypass their service provider for formal support from RIM...but, the carriers can escalate cases into RIM at no charge to the end user.

Hopefully they contain something useful! There also are multiple existing threads on this site that discuss that exact error...your review of those might prove useful, and a search of this site, using the error message, error code, or symptom, should reveal all applicable existing threads to you.
