Blackberry connectivity.

How does a Blackberry connection works? If I subscribe to a "Blackberry 3G" Data service, how does it work? When the Blackberry connection "logo" disappears from the top right corner of the screen and left with the "3G" logo, I was unable to serve the net. Is the blackberry connected directly to RIM's network or does it goes through the Telco then to RIM's?

Can someone kindly explain their concept? It is rather confusing as I was told the blackberry does not connect to RIM separately from the Telco's own service.

Thank you very much.

Re: Blackberry connectivity.

When the RIM logo disappears from the home screen, it indicates you are not connected to the BIS BlackBerry Internet Service.

Re: Blackberry connectivity.

So does that mean the phone connects to RIM directly or does it need to go through the middleman(Telco) in order to connect to RIM?
