Blackberry email sync. (sent box)

[ Edited ]

Hi All,

Got a problem, suddenly found that when I send out emails from my blackberry, the email haven't sync to my sent box on thunderbird.

But it work perfectly before, can someone tell me what's happening?

p.s. I have just change my bb from 9700 to 9860, but suppose it doesn't affect, isn't it?

Re: Blackberry email sync. (sent box)

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

Thunderbird is a client email app. The BB has no interaction with client apps. Rather, the BB interacts with your email server, governed by these guidelines:

  • KB05133 Email reconciliation features for the BlackBerry Internet Service

If Sent Mail reconciliation is supposed to work between your BB and your email server, then it's up to Thunderbird to be able to reflect that on your computer. You will need to check the actual Sent Items server folder to be sure if it's working or not between your BB and your email server.

If it's supposed to work yet your server Sent Items is not being updated, then please try these steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):

1) Register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network

2) Delete and Resend Service Books

  • KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service

3) Batt Pull Reboot

  • Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS configuration for the affected email accounts.

Also check your BIS configuration (email setup wizard) and ensure that Sent Items reconciliation is turned on (assuming it's supposed to work at all, that is).

Good luck and let us know!

Re: Blackberry email sync. (sent box)

Hi Sdgardne,

Thanks a lot for your advise.

I'd follow the steps, but not working.

Suddenly found that, after i change my BB from 9700 to 9860, they have put the email that I send from BB to the folder "Sent Messages" instead of "Send" that's why I can't found it.

Anyway, thanks a lot for your help!
