Blackberry frozen, how to fix?

[ Edited ]

Got a blackberry curve 8830 last week and I'm having problems.  It takes atleast 5 minutes to turn on.  When someone calls/texting, my screen stays dark so I can't see who is calling/texting.  Now none of the keys are working.  Is there something I can do to reboot the blackberry or does the phone sound like its defective?

Before anybody asks, yes I have taken the battery out several times and still isnt working.  Keyboard or tracwheel isnt working.

Firstly, DONT turn the devcie off!

Ensure that the devcie is on and runnnig, THEN pull the battery out of the back.

Wait 5-10 seconds and put the battery back in.

The device will restart and should be ok.

Re: Blackberry frozen, how to fix?

The phone is on.  I take the back off and pull the battery out. I put the battery back in. A white screen comes up with the little hr glass thingy and it sits there for 5 minutes.  Then the screen loads and keyboard or trackwheel doesnt work.

Any other suggestion?

If you are still under warranty, I would take it back..... if it was me.....
